This wonderful and rare book is in near fine condition. There are no marks from the previous owner. The dj is in very good condition, there is light wear and light soiling. The end papers are illustrated. This book contains drawing of historic buildings in the lower Rio Grande Valley, from Laredo to H. Matamoros, on both sides of the river. Most of the sketches also have accompanying historical information. 170 pgs.

This is a oversized pamphlet from 1920 that documents the trip from Brooklyn New York to the Grand Canyon, for the Official Dedication as a National Park, taken by many officials and prominent people, (listed in the rear of the booklet on two pages). These participants visited 43 cities by either automobile or train. They traveled 12 days, passed through 21 states, visited 6 national parks, with no rainy days, all in 30 days. One highlight was the visit in Marfa, Texas where a rodeo was held at the ranch of prominent cattleman Burt (W.B. ) Mitchell. He is the first cattleman whose portrait was placed in the Texas A&M Ag College. This book is in Very Good condition. 32 pages, with many b/w photos throughout.

The book is in Very Good condition, the spine is lightly sunned, the corners are bumped, some wear at the top and bottom of the spine, light insect damage to the edges of the pages, there are 2 stains on the cover measuring approximately 1/2" long, the first title page may have been reglued recently, it was done poorly and the glue extends 1/2" too far onto the page, which attached to the second front endpaper.

This trilogy is primarily concerned with the early days of Hill County. The County was organized in 1853 from the western part of Navarro County. It was named for George W. Hill, a physician, who came to Texas in 1836 from Tennessee. Hill served in the Texas Revolution and was the Secretary of War and Navy in Sam Houston's Cabinet.

Rare copy inscribed by this famous mountain lion hunter, inducted into the Mountain Lion Hunting Hall of Fame. He lived and hunted the mountains of West Texas and the Big Bend area. The book is in Very Good condition, the extremities of the boards have light insect damage, from the insects eating the cloth, the corners are bumped, the top and bottom of the spine are worn, the previous owner stamped both inside covers with the image of his estate, inscribed by the author G. W. (Dub) Evans, inscription is dated 1953.

Printed in conjunction with the world premier of "The Alamo, ". The film was directed by John Wayne. There were no Ghost Writers at the Alamo-This a reprint fron Life, July 4, 1960. It is a three page gatefold advertisement, that appeared in Life's July 4, 1960 special issue on U.S. Politics. A News Release: John Wayne's "The Alamo"-183 pgs. The book is in very good condition, the cover is lightly tanned. The interior is tight and clean.

INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR AND DATED Nov. 2, 1927, Dallas, Texas. Western novel by this leading Texas woman, who was well educated, wrote "The Wind" a novel about the plight of the prairie women, which was made into a famous silent film. She was also associated with J. Frank Dobie and was President of the Texas Folklore Society in 1914-15. Book is in wonderful VG++ condition. Another story, 456 pgs. about a tough frontier woman, and extremely scarce in any condition. A wonderful find for the Texana collector. Her first novel, rare, was about the plight of black Southern sharecroppers.

Mozley, a well known artist, has written several art & bios books, one about Lockwood. Lockwood organized UT's art department beginning in 1938, with Mozley's help.
